SwordStyle is a collection of beats from my time in Season 1 of the Jay Brookinz Battle League. The JBBL is a beat battle tournament in Indianapolis, Indiana.16 producers were selected from a pool of submissions to compete in a beat battle league over the course of 8 separate battles, spanning a 10 month period. Each battle required the producers to bring 8 beats. In that spirit, I have chosen to release my favorite 8 beats from over the course of the battle season. Think of it as my "perfect battle". These beats are the result of almost a years worth of production, and I am excited to share them with you.

As a producer who generally focuses on chill, laid back material, this League was a big challenge for me, required me to break out of my box, be competitive, and explore what works and what does not in a battle setting. I was constantly exploring ways to adapt my style to fit the battle format, while still staying true to myself. I enjoyed making these tracks, but I'm ready to get back to making some chill, weird shit. Okthxbye.
